What is Lifestyle Trucking? Early in my driving career, a wise man told me that OTR Trucking wasn’t a job. It wasn’t something you could punch a clock each morning and do. It’s a Lifestyle. Long haul truckers learn how to deal with the separation from family and the isolation or they quit. Period. What I’m doing is just the natural next step.
I make my home where the road takes me. It’s the difference between working to live and living to work. I might stop and park at one of the beautiful rest areas along I-40 in New Mexico. I’ll pull out my backpack and camera to take a short hike through the high desert. Shutdown for a weekend on the pier in Long Beach, CA and unpack my fishing pole. Spend the July 4th weekend parked in the far back lot of a Petro grilling hotdogs and burgers with a few other Highway Hobos.
Lifestyle Trucking changes the answer to the most common question a Professional Driver gets. Where do you live? My answer? Where don’t I live?
